Coastguard Southern Maritime School

The school is managed by Coastguard Southern Region with the support of locally based qualified tutors with maritime experience.  You will train with our local Coastguard volunteer crew.

 

Upcoming Courses

Day Skipper

An introductory course for all members of the family or crew, including whose new to boating.  Applies to a wide range of vessels including yachts, launches, powerboats, jet skis, sea kayaks and waka. 15 hours.  Cost per student $195.00

 

 

GPS Operator

An advanced course to enable safe navigation and use of GPS. 8 hours. Cost per student $115.00

 

Radar

A comprehensive course to help you understand and safely operate the radar set on your vessel. 8 hours. Cost per student $135.00

 

 

OuTboard Engine Maintenance

A concise course covering outboard care and trouble shooting. 8 hours.  Cost per student $120.00

 

 

 

 

Inboard engine maintenance

A comprehensive course covering diesel inboard care, maintenance, and fault finding.  8 hours  Cost per student $120.00
