The history of Southern Wings can be traced back
more than sixty-five years. It is one of New Zealand's original aviation
colleges, operated by people who are passionate about flying and helping
others to become pilots.
Southland's
historical links with aviation are alive and well in the township of
Mandeville, where Tiger Moths are
restored (using original plans as reference) and sold worldwide.

The grand heritage of Southern Wings, the
spectacular local landscape and the gracious Southland lifestyle has
helped us to attract some of New Zealand's finest instructors and
pilots.
Southern Wings is superbly
equipped with modern aircraft and comfortable facilities. We operate a
varied, well-maintained fleet suitable for all training purposes. Charters
for sightseeing, photography and transport are another facet of our
operation.
Our main teaching and charter base is located at
Invercargill Airport. A secondary base is located at Gore, just 60
kilometres northeast of Invercargill.
